Spotlight On UBA’S Female Lionesses: Fatmata Kuyateh –
from Security to Banker
However, Fatmata knew she was capable of more. Inspired by the sight of bankers walking into the banking hall each day, her passion and desire to grow within the institution ignited. Determined to take a step forward, she approached the Head of Operations to share her aspirations and seek guidance. Encouraged by the response, Fatmata was advised to apply to the Human Capital Management Department for a new job role.
Without hesitation, she submitted her application and navigated the rigorous recruitment process while still working as a security officer. Her perseverance paid off!
Fatmata secured a new role and was transferred back to the Cline Town branch, where she transitioned from security officer to Digital Banking Sales Officer. Grateful for the opportunity, she expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the entire UBA management and staff for providing her with a platform to excel. “UBA has created the opportunity for me to gain a wealth of knowledge and experience in banking,” she said.
Fatmata also took a moment to encourage young girls, urging them to work hard, be patient, and have faith in God. She inspired others in security roles who aspire to follow in her footsteps, reminding them to keep their dreams alive and empower themselves; one day they too will reach their peak.
Her journey is a testament to hard work, ambition, and an unshakable belief in oneself. Fatmata Kuyateh is indeed a go-getter and an inspiration to many!
