CUMT Students Union Ends a One-day Public Lecture.

The Students Union Government under the leadership of Mohamed Deen Bangura at the Canadian University of Modern Technology has on Monday the 8th August 2022 ended a One-day Public Lecture. This event took place at the Canadian University Campus in Mile 91.
The focus of the lecture was to impact lives of students in Digital Technology in Banking
In his opening statement, the key note speaker Abdulai Ben Kamara head of Digital Banking of United Bank of Africa (UBA) in Sierra Leone discussed the relevance of Digital Banking System. He said, the digital banking system was traced back to the advent of ATMs and Cards when they began to connect retailers with supplies and consumers to develop needs for early online catalogues and inventory software systems.
Mr Ben also reiterated that the UBA has expanded it branches in different parts of Sierra Leone as to provide technological banking systems and extreme services to customers by providing access to Automated Teller Machine, Visa card, Master Card, POS, ACPACH and RTGS in Banking System.
“According to research, I have noticed that only few Sierra Leoneans are using the digital banking system. I advise all students of this institution to start using this digital system. The UBA is here to help you in digital banking system.” Ben said.
He ended his lecture by acknowledging staff and management of CUMT for their vast advancement in Modern Technology.
Moreover, the marketing expert and communication officer of UBA Madam Kumba talked about campus UBA ambassadors. She said there will be a set of ambassadors at the Canadian University of Modern Technology whom shall be student heads and shall be appointed by the SU President. These students will represent the United Bank of Africa on campus. She ended by saying the ambassadors will be motivated as they carry out their functions.
In attendance, the register Adam Lawrence Goguen, Director of Students Affairs Zoe Cooper, Arun Kapen Bangura lecturer, SUG President Mohamed Deen Bangura, SUG Chief Minister Mohamed Chernor Kamara, Minister of Information Musa Aiahson Koroma, invited guests and students from various departments.
Mr Arun Kapen Bangura was the Chairperson of the programme. In his statement, he said that the use of technology has provided effective and efficient development in Banking system.
“I want the UBA to connecting CUMT into a cashless society.” Bangura ended.
The event ended in a peaceful atmospheric condition.
